1. Who Can Apply
The TXK Pro Skilled Trades Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors in the Texarkana, Texas area who are preparing to continue their education or training in a skilled trade.
Applicants should be students who are motivated to learn, ready to work hard, and interested in building a career through hands-on technical training.
2. Location & School Requirements
Applicants must be graduating from a high school in the Texarkana area or a nearby surrounding community.
Eligible students may attend:
Public high schools
Private high schools
Charter schools
Accredited homeschool programs
Students should live in or have a strong connection to the Texarkana, Texas area.
3. Eligible Career Fields
This scholarship is intended for students pursuing skilled trades and technical career paths, including but not limited to:
Plumbing
Electrical work
HVAC
Construction
Industrial maintenance
Welding
Carpentry
Mechanical trades
Other approved trade or technical programs
The applicant’s chosen field should lead to practical workforce skills, certifications, licenses, or career-ready training.
4. Education & Program Requirements
Applicants must plan to enroll in a local accredited trade school, technical program, community college, certificate program, apprenticeship-related training, or workforce development program.
Examples of eligible expenses include tuition, tools, books, safety gear, uniforms, certification costs, and required program fees.
Students may apply if they have already been accepted, have applied, or are actively planning to apply to an eligible program.
5. What TXK Pro Looks For
TXK Pro is looking for students who show strong potential, not perfect résumés. Ideal applicants demonstrate:
Work ethic and dependability
Genuine interest in skilled trades
Hands-on ability or willingness to learn
Career focus and personal motivation
Community pride
Financial need or barriers to training, when applicable
Applicants may strengthen their submission with CTE coursework, trade-related experience, part-time jobs, apprenticeships, personal projects, community service, or a strong recommendation from a teacher, employer, coach, or mentor.
